Katelyn and her new toys from Mrs. Carolyn

Why can't we as adults get away with chubby legs and still be considered cute?

I love how she gets distracted when her Dad laughs out loud.

Maren Wins!

Maren guessed correct first! Yes, that was my left hand and the last time I was able to wear my wedding rings was about a year ago. I didn't realize how much I missed them until I was wearing them again, then I realized I didn't get a chance to wear them very long. The engagement ring belonged to David's grandmother. He gave it to me on August 13, 2006. So, I only wore them for about 8 months before I had to take them off because of the beginning of all my "baby weight" which I have finally lost. I stare at my rings all the time, it's just like I'm newly engaged all over again. It's kinda fun to show them to everyone again :)

I Am Mulan!

Strong and spirited. You're no one's girly girl; actually you are very determined person with a strong sense of self. Never let go of that! The only thing that equals your sense of self is your family, but the traditions of society can always be bent to protect something or someone you love.

The Park Adventure

It started out as a nice quiet breezy walk on the trail. Yes, we took the stroller out into the woods because I didn't want Katelyn in the backpack because I was afraid she would get sunburned. We seemed to do okay with the stroller, eventhough there were parts of the trail that weren't quite wide enough or exactly designed for our big hefty stroller. It gave me extra exercise to push it, so we plugged along. I told David at times I felt like I was a pioneer pushing a handcart. He assured me a handcart would be much heavier, but I still was grateful it was 2008, not 1848. After about a mile and a half, we came upon some big patches of water, and the trail became more narrow, so we decided to turn back. David asked me for the map, and being the experience hiker that I am, noticed the map was no where to be found. He had laid it on the top of the stroller and through all my uphill trekking, it must have fallen by the way side. I guess it wasn't important to me to keep watch of it because there's no way we would ever venture off the trail, right???? Well, on the way back David decided we would "take another route" on the service road to avoid the rough trail. Hmm... sounded like a good idea at the time... Anyway, about 15 hours later (not really, but it seemed like it), I began to get a little apprehensive that we would ever find our way back to the car. I began to pray. I knew that if God wanted to, he could drop a map somewhere along our path, so as we walked along the road, I kept my eye out on the side of the road because I had enough faith that God would put one their if we needed it. I looked and looked and we walked and walked. Of course, I was more worried about my little baby girl than myself, because I was afraid she would get dehydrated and I didn't like seeing the mosquitos around her. I kept saying "Squito check" and David knew that I wanted him to look at her to make sure she didn't have any buggies on her. Well, after a while, David, of course, got us back on the right trail and I was never so happy to see my car!! He said he followed the power lines to get us back, thank goodness for Boy Scouts!! Here's a picture of her at the beginning of the trek... and then one later on when I had gotten out a baby wipe, doused it with water and was wiping her forehead trying to keep her cool :)

Getting Ready for the Park

Well, we had decided we were going to a park today to walk on some trails, so I pulled out one of Katelyn's hat and had a great time trying it on as different styles. I was having way too much fun with this hat!

Cute pic David took

She likes to fall asleep in your arms after her bottle, then you try to put her in her crib for a nap and she wakes right up and gives you a great big smile that says, "You don't really think I'm going to let you leave me in her all alone, do you??"
