Precious Moments
I think my most favorite thing to do lately is to lie next to David when both of us have a hand on my belly and we feel Katelyn moving around. Last night was a good example. She was kicking so hard, I even asked David, "Are YOU doing that??". Of course he wasn't, she was just reminding us that she's on her way :) I almost want her to stay in there because it's so easy to take care of her. Easy to feed her, easy to keep her warm, easy to carry her....

9 Month Anniversary!
Today is a sad and happy day. It is a happy day because David and I have been married 9 months today! I celebrate the month anniversaries still because I can't remember the last time I liked the same guy for that long and I'm more in love with David every passing day. It is a sad day because I received the Temple work schedule for the rest of the year. Most of you know I have been working in the Temple every Saturday or every other Saturday for 11.5 years. I noticed that my name is no longer on the schedule after October 13th. I have decided to stop working at the Temple so than I can spend my Saturdays with Katelyn. I know she will fill my life with joy even more than working at the Temple, but it is a bit sad to see that element of my life ending because it is such a big part of my life! President Johnson told me he would not let me retire, but only let me take an 18 year leave of absence. :) I look forward to working there again when our children are grown.

Three's Company
Happy Birthday DJ!

Happy 6th Birthday to my nephew DJ!! Ok, so I have to tell you what he said to me tonight, it was so cute. He told me about his day and how he went to SplashDown and that he was having pizza tonight and going to open his presents. Then I asked him when he was coming to see me and he says, "When you have your baby". (He's so smart)! Then there was a little pause, and he says, "Ok, I think I'm done talking to you now". It was soooo cute!!!

Go to bed!
I can't remember exactly which day this occurred, but I counseled with a friend and we agreed it was "blog worthy". Katelyn was being a bit too jumpy for me as David and I were relaxing watching a movie. I asked him, "Would you please tell your daughter to go to sleep?". He responded in a firm voice, "Katelyn! Go to bed!". It was like she was a toddler and was standing right there and had gotten out of bed for the 5th time. It was so cute and I couldn't help but laugh. My husband is just too adorable! Can't wait to see him as a father! :)

5 months today!
I'm 5 months pregnant today, can you believe it? That means I'm more than halfway there!! Had a baby appointment today and doc says I'm on "Cruise Control". Will have to do the hour long glucose test again in about 7 weeks to make sure I haven't developed diabetes, but that's just routine for everyone. He asked me if I have felt her yet. I laughed and said, "Oh, yea, this one's a crazy dancer". Then he tried to use the doppler and chuckled himself and he said, "You're right, she won't sit still for me to get the heartbeat". :)
P. S. Dad is showing me how to add video to my blog!

Becoming Real
I wish everyone was here with me right now!!! Katelyn is just going crazy inside me. I'm wondering if she is having a danceoff with a few friends. You can even see my tummy move!!! If you were here and could put your hand on my tummy, you could feel her move constantly!! It's an amazing, wonderful feeling!!

Nesting Phase?
What exactly is the "nesting phase"? Is that when you look at the counter and see some bananas and (like never before) you wonder if they would taste good in a homemade banana bread? If so, that happened to me! Last night I made this banana bread and the entire house still smells like banana bread. David and I are about to sit down right now and enjoy it, but snapped a quick picture first!

For the record, Katelyn is still in my Tummy :)
On Tuesday we found out that we are having a little girl and so I text messaged a lot of my friends with the message "It's a girl!". I had a few responses and everyone seemed excited for me that we were finally able to find out the gender, which as you know, takes about 20 weeks. Well, I got a phonecall last night from a friend (who will remain nameless) and I was a bit confused at what she was saying. She said things like, "Well, I didn't want to call the first week because everyone does" and I wasn't really sure what she was talking about. I knew that she had a child, so I figured maybe she got a lot of calls after her first sonogram or something. Anyway, the conversation continued and I began to laugh. She thought my message meant that I had DELIVERED the baby!!! Now this was funny, but it got even more funny. She said, "Uh oh, I guess I have some people I need to call back". I said, "Huh?". She said, "Um, we'll I've told a "few" people. I began to laugh harder as I tried to ask just how many people she has told. She said, "I told my parents and my sister and then there's... and .... and ... and ...". I couldn't stop laughing. Then she said, "I think we even put in our newsletter". Luckily, she said that last comment was a joke. Now she's in my old singles ward and she told me she was sitting in Sunday School telling everyone around her. As you can imagine, my old singles ward plays that "telephone game" very quickly, so I'm sure it spread like wildfire. I was chuckling pondering everyone trying to do the math in their heads as they heard that David and Patti had ALREADY had a baby. She told me their were comments such as, "Wow, that must have really been a HONEYMOON baby". It was pretty fun to laugh that hard, I must admit and it didn't bother me a bit. So, if you hear from anyone that I've already had the baby, rest assured, Katelyn is still safely tucked inside my tummy and will be for another 4 months or so. :)

Viva Las Vegas
As I write, David is booking our plane tickets to Vegas and the Grand Canyon. We're even paying the extra $30 for an exit row seat since my husband is 6'5" and I'm about that much wide now :) Our last vacation with no responsibility. :) We are going Aug 14-18 which is between his Summer Semester B and Fall Semester. I've been to Vegas a few times, but I've never been to the Grand Canyon and it's on my "life list" of things to do, so I'm pretty excited. It will be fun to have our "third honeymoon" pictures with me 6 months pregnant, right?

Gender Day
Here is a picture of David and I right before the sonogram.
Isn't he cute?
Then we headed to the beach and enjoyed a relaxing hour of sand, water and sun. Then he had to go to class, so Dinah took me shopping and we bought a little blue outfit with the word "princess" on it! Also, my best friend came over that night and here is what she had waiting for us. Of course the balloon was inflated then. You can always click on these pictures to make them bigger, but those are little pink socks in front of the poster :)

Quickening

Well, I'm not sure exactly what "feeling a baby move" feels like. But... you know how when a bubble comes up to the surface of a soft drink, it pops??? Well, if it feels like that, then I am feeling Katelyn pretty frequently :) If not, then maybe she is blowing bubbles with one of those wands in a bubble jar... remember those things? I was going to say "remember those things from when you were young", but I think I was playing with one of them not too long ago. :)

Born in the USA
So I'm at Wal-mart and I see this outfit half price (I guess because of the holiday being passed). It says "Born in the USA". Yep, couldn't pass up the price of $2.50, so I had to buy it. In less than two days we will know whether SHE can wear it or whether Mommy will be giving it away to her many friends that have had girls this year :)

Jury Summons
I received a jury summons the other day and did you know that "expectant mother" is one of the optional excuses you can check to be excused from jury duty? That was wayyyyy too easy. :) I never got a jury summons until last year, and now I've had 2 in the last year. Last year I actually forgot to go until someone at work asked me why I didn't go. Luckily I work downtown near the courthouse and was able to rush over there... just to find out they didn't need me though, but I was relieved! Could you imagine me in jury duty right now? Excuse me judge, I know I just went 10 min ago, but could I be excused to go to the ladies room again? But, judge, what does "sequestered" mean.... I'm a newlywed, you know? No, these emotional bursts happened way before I was pregnant, sorry, judge, can't blame them on the baby :)

The United States
Ok, I just had to share this. Most of you know I teach the 8 year olds in Sunday School, and today one of them said the cutest thing. The lesson was on Missionary Work, so I asked each of them where they would like to serve a mission. My little student pipes up and says, "I want to stay in the United States because I DO NOT want to go to Arkansas". I said, "Excuse me?". He said, "Yep, my dad said that Arkansas is boring, so I want to stay in the United States instead". Aren't kids cute? :) 8 more days to the sonogram!! I sure hope the baby is cooperating, my co-worker told me that both of her girls wouldn't cooperate so she didn't find out the gender until much later :(
