In the 50s!!

59 days from now and here are a few more pictures from the shower of gifts from my wonderful co-workers. I think the first picture is about a second before I got a sweet kiss on the cheek from my hubby.

11 months today! (Anniversary, not Pregnancy)

Today is David and I's 11 month anniversary!! Only 60 more days until Katelyn's arrival. Here's a picture of me standing in front of our messy nursery closet. You know it's one thing to have to put your clothes away to make room for the maternity clothes that you now only fit into, but let me tell you, it's a whole 'nother feeling to have to start putting away your maternity clothes because they are too small!! Yikes! I'm bursting out of this shirt in the picture, so it will soon be retired to the maternity box. ;)

Oops forgot the best part of #218

After all that chaos, it just got better.... When I got in the elevator at work, this man says to me, "You must be due soon, huh?". I guess that was a nice way of him saying, "Wow, Woman, You're H_U_G_E!!!". :)

Evidence #218 of Pregnancy Brain

I use the #218 because that's how long I've been pregnant and I'm sure I've committed at least one thing a day that would qualify as "proof" of Pregnancy Brain. Want to hear this morning's? Yea, I thought so. So, I grab my water (because the ride to work is a great time to focus on drinking enough water) and phone and head off to work. After a few minutes, I put my phone in the usual spot where I can see it clearly. A few minutes later I saw out of the corner of my eye a cell phone in the passenger seat. So, I did a double take and then realized I had grabbed my husband's phone too!!! OOPS!!! Now, you know we don't have a home phone, so it's really important that he has his cell. So I started to laugh at myself because I have no idea how I grabbed both of them, then proceeded to call my boss to explain that I would be late because I had to drive all the way home to return the phone to its rightful owner. Then on the way home, David must have used the computer to try to find his phone, because I opened the phone and saw a text message that said, "Test. Where are you phone?". I kept laughing because I couldn't call David and let him know that I was bringing the phone home because he didn't have his phone!! So, as I was driving back into our subdivision, I saw him coming the opposite direction. Poor thing was heading all the way back to Bumby Chapel to see if he left it there this morning at seminary. Good thing I caught him :) Then on my way back to work I realized I was running out of gas. Should I really be allowed out of the house? Then in the middle of I-4 traffic, I got that "If I don't find a bathroom in the next 3 minutes....." and I remembered how much water I had drank on my first attempt to get to work!!! What a morning!!

Painting has begun!

The painting of our house has begun. We decided that since we are spending the money, we might as well change the color just a bit. I wanted it a little darker. So if you look at the pic, the top half is the new color and the bottom half is the old color. We like it so far :) Also, on the baby aspect, I think I started feeling some of those Braxton Hicks contractions. Not really sure what I'm talking about, but I think that's what they were. Just felt like a tightening as I was walking a few times today.

One More :(

Usually I have good thoughts as I'm walking from the parking lot up to the beautiful Orlando Temple doors, but I must admit this morning I was thinking, "Oh why is the Temple built on a HILL?????". Then I thought of a great idea. For Temples and all these lovely Latter-day Saint Women having lots of babies, shouldn't they have preferential "maternity parking" just like Babies-r-Us? :) They let me just sit at the desk today and do the office work instead of all the normal running around I do, but I still came home exhausted and hurried home after my shift, ate lunch, and headed for a nice long 2 hour nap. Oct 13th is my next and last week to work at the Temple. It's sad, but I think I'm ready to slow down a bit for my last 10 weeks of pregnancy. One of the sealers predicted that she would come early on October 8th. I told him to go ahead and ask for that in his prayers, I was definitely ok with it :)

Shower at Work - Part 1

Yesterday, my wonderful co-workers had a baby shower for me!! Here are a few pictures and we should have some more either tomorrow or next week. I feel so much more ready for baby now that my co-workers have spoiled me with gifts. Stay tuned for more pics!! And, yes, more than 3 people showed up, we just took these pictures early :)

7 months today!!

You know that country song "Goodbye Earl" from 2000 that is supposed to be a light-hearted song about two women getting rid of a man who deserves it? Well, I have that song on a CD and I found it this morning on my way to work, so I put it in to listen to it. I knew that pregnancy has been making me more emotional than usual, but this is the first time this song has made me cry. I started to cry when I heard the lyrics about Mary Ann taking the red eye to come to the aid of Wanda when she's in intensive care because of Earl. So then I started thinking more deeply about this song, and how it isn't funny at all because of its subject matter. So, is this "more emotional during pregnancy" sometimes a good thing or am I overreacting????

More Proof of "Pregnancy Brain"

The two things I remember my husband saying to me this morning:
1. Honey, your shirt is on inside out. (I actually argued with him about it (playfully), but alas, he was correct).
2. Honey, why is the cooking oil in the fridge? (we made muffins this morning, I think he was just grateful that the milk wasn't in the pantry).

Couldn't resist

Ok, (i giggle as i write this.. but it's 6am and i can't go back to sleep after my husband's alarm wakes us up at 4:30am)... anyway... i remembered that David helped me stuff the boppy, so i took this picture in honor of him, and to show you how the boppy can also be used besides just as a nursing/feeding pillow. hopefully david won't think i've insulted the man of steel by putting him in my "girly" pillow. if so, this post will self destruct in 2.6 hours.

Boppy

On Saturday, David was at the UCF game tailgating and Rosie and I were chilling at my house while Dinah was bird counting (you'll have to ask her about that, I'm not sure I could explain it well enough :)). I was missing my hubby, so I needed to find something to occupy my time, so I decided to get together with Dinah after she got home and get working on the "making the baby something" project. A while ago, I figured that something easy to make for the baby would be the "boppy" pillow that so many family and friends have recommended. It would be something that I would use (and look at) often and possibly with each child (considering the fabric we used, I think I'll just use it for the girls though). I fell in love with a fabric that my grandmother used for one of the blankets that she made me, so we found the same fabric and were delighted to use it. Here's a picture!! (please don't hesitate to use some ooohs and ahhhs, after all, when is the last time you remember me sewing ANYTHING???). If you can't see the fabric, it is little butterflies with the words "God Loves You" all over :)

Should blondes be allowed to get pregnant?

Tonight I'm wondering if any pregnant blonde has ever been put on bed rest because they were hazardous to themselves. My wonderful husband made me pancakes this morning before Church and so this evening I was cleaning the griddle. I was trying to be thorough and make sure that I cleaned every inch of it. I saved the top of the griddle for last. As I was wiping it down, I noticed that it was cleaning rather easily, though it felt a little warm and began to steam a little. It took a minute for me to realize, but I soon discovered that upon cleaning the temperature knob, I had turned the griddle on!!! One of these days I will learn to unplug appliances before I clean them, but today was not that day! Oops! Perhaps there should be a new restriction on pregnant women called "Appliance Rest"... or is that just me?

Romance

Ladies, have you ever dreamed of coming home to a clean house, dinner on the table (including your favorite Cold Stone ice cream awaiting in the freezer), and sparkling apple juice just sizzling in the background?? Well, if you're married to David Pulver, dreams come true!! To top off the Filet Mignon, seasoned potatoes, asparagus and bread with dipping sauce... take a look at these beauties!! I love being married!! I can't wait til our one year anniversary next month. We are thinking of taking a weekend trip to St. Augustine since we've been wanting to go there for a while and stay at a romantic bed and breakfast. :)

Sleepless in Windermere

Some of you know I taught seminary this morning and will be until next Monday. Class is from 5:50am-6:40am. It was actually much better than I expected, the kids were awake and even participated :) I thought substituting for seminary this week would help me sleep better at night because I would be utterly exhausted from waking up at 4:30, but, alas, I sit here at the computer at 10:45pm wide awake. My little darling girl inside of me is playing tag with some of my organs, or at least that it what it feels like. She is awake as can be, so it makes it hard for me to settle down, eventhough I need to arise again in 6 short hours. I guess she is preparing me for real life when she arrives! Anyway, the kids were great this morning, but I think I will leave the seminary teaching up to the patriarch of this growing family. I consider myself a morning person....just as long as the "morning" doesn't start until 7 or so :)
