Surprise for Me

I came home last night from work and David had starting the painting of our bedroom!! I was so excited! He has started the primer and here is a picture of his progress. I can't wait til it's all done and we get the new furniture :) And, yes, I know, you guys want pictures of your pregnant daughter, but that will have to wait until Sunday when I actually have makeup on and look halfway decent :)

First Official Baby Appointment

We are in Week 10, day 2. Today David and I went to see Dr. Kareem, who is another doctor at the group we go to. She gave us a notebook of information and a form for me to get some lab work done. She used a doppler microphone and we were able to hear our little baby beating its sweet little heart 160 beats per minute. Here is a website that has an icon you can click on to hear a baby's heartbeat who is about the same age as ours: http://pregnancy.about.com/cs/pregnancycalendar/l/blweek10.htm. Our first sonogram won't be until 20 weeks though, which is not until July, which is also when we will find out the gender. Until then we are busy painting our bedroom, cleaning the carpets and then buying new bedroom furniture (KING size bed!!!) for ourselves. I am looking forward to being out of the first trimester next month and hopefully getting some energy back :) My next appt is May 24th. Also, I told my supervisor at the Temple that I would be "retiring" from working at the Temple after 11 years to spend my Saturdays with my new baby as soon as s/he arrives.

New TV Show

Has anyone seen the new TV show "Notes from the Under Belly"? David and I watched it last week and had a great time laughing at all the similarities. I'm sure I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much if I wasn't pregnant. Probably most of it would have been over my head. But I sure understood every part of it now!!! So, if you want some good laughs, tune in, it's on tonight!

Winnie Palmer

I found out today which hospital I will be going to. It's the Winnie Palmer Hospital (named after Arnold Palmer's wife). It's only 3 miles from my work :) I'm very excited because my co-worker told me that this hospital is like a 4 star hotel. Hopefully I will be able to go take a tour very soon. Here's their website, though it doesn't give much information: http://72.3.247.146/winnie/index.html

Funny Story

Ok, so I'm walking from my office to my car and this "obviously gay" man (is that politically correct) says hello to me. So, I say hello back and then he begins to tell me that there is a sticker on my "back", but of course it was a bit lower than my "back". So, I turn to look and he points, wait, doesn't point, but actually touches my bum to show me the sticker. Now, of course, this is ok and he knows it's okay because he knows that I know that he's gay because of how obvious his voice and mannerisms are. So, of course I wonder how long (4 hours) I've been walking around my office AND NO ONE has told me that there is a sticker on my bum. Now, it's already a funny story, but here's the best part: The sticker was the one that came with the pants to tell me what size they are, so I have a sticker that has "X-Large" written about 10 times all going down my bum. I felt like a big semi with the words "Wide Load" on my backside. I'm still trying to figure out which is funnier... the fact that I had that "X-Large" sticker on my bum when I'm pregnant or the fact that it took a gay guy to be nice enough and willing enough to let me know! HA!

Busted!

Well, I guess it will be easy to tell which days I'm not feeling well, because those are probably the days that I skip posting. Yea, this weekend was a bit rough, but I'm actually feeling good at the moment, so I'm happy. I have this Friday off work (Good Friday), so I look forward to resting all day in the comfort of my own room. I have all the maternity clothes I need, and we started stocking up on diapers (with every coupon we get in Sunday's paper). Now we just need to finish our registries and decide what stuff we want. Sure wish I knew the gender!
