Katelyn's New Toy

Well, it dawned on me that Katelyn might want something else to look up than my funny face and she seemed to like the one at Gramma's house, so we bought her a similar toy with the Babies R Us gift certificates we got (thank you everyone). She seems to like it as you can see here... also notice her onesie... she is Daddy's girl :)

Is it the swaddling?

Some of you know that Katelyn has been staying up all night the past couple of weeks. Oh sure, she would fall asleep in my arms, but as soon as I put her down she would scream as if I had left her alone with a boy with cooties. Well, Sunday night I figured I would try swaddling to see if it would help her sleep. Sunday night and Monday night she slept in 4 hours intervals!! Then last night I put her down at 11:55pm and she slept until 5:48 this morning! 5 hours and 53 minutes!! Not sure if it is the swaddling, and frankly I don't care.... I just am so delighted that she is letting me get some sleep at night now. Of course, I still woke up at 4:08 this morning and my first thought was how happy I was that she was still sleeping and then the "I'm-a-new-mom-and-freak-out-easily" kicked in and I knew I had to check on her before I could even think about getting back to sleep. She was fine and still swaddled nicely. Hope this is a continuing trend :) Have I told you lately how much I love being a mom???
