New TV Show

Has anyone seen the new TV show "Notes from the Under Belly"? David and I watched it last week and had a great time laughing at all the similarities. I'm sure I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much if I wasn't pregnant. Probably most of it would have been over my head. But I sure understood every part of it now!!! So, if you want some good laughs, tune in, it's on tonight!

Winnie Palmer

I found out today which hospital I will be going to. It's the Winnie Palmer Hospital (named after Arnold Palmer's wife). It's only 3 miles from my work :) I'm very excited because my co-worker told me that this hospital is like a 4 star hotel. Hopefully I will be able to go take a tour very soon. Here's their website, though it doesn't give much information: http://72.3.247.146/winnie/index.html

Funny Story

Ok, so I'm walking from my office to my car and this "obviously gay" man (is that politically correct) says hello to me. So, I say hello back and then he begins to tell me that there is a sticker on my "back", but of course it was a bit lower than my "back". So, I turn to look and he points, wait, doesn't point, but actually touches my bum to show me the sticker. Now, of course, this is ok and he knows it's okay because he knows that I know that he's gay because of how obvious his voice and mannerisms are. So, of course I wonder how long (4 hours) I've been walking around my office AND NO ONE has told me that there is a sticker on my bum. Now, it's already a funny story, but here's the best part: The sticker was the one that came with the pants to tell me what size they are, so I have a sticker that has "X-Large" written about 10 times all going down my bum. I felt like a big semi with the words "Wide Load" on my backside. I'm still trying to figure out which is funnier... the fact that I had that "X-Large" sticker on my bum when I'm pregnant or the fact that it took a gay guy to be nice enough and willing enough to let me know! HA!

Busted!

Well, I guess it will be easy to tell which days I'm not feeling well, because those are probably the days that I skip posting. Yea, this weekend was a bit rough, but I'm actually feeling good at the moment, so I'm happy. I have this Friday off work (Good Friday), so I look forward to resting all day in the comfort of my own room. I have all the maternity clothes I need, and we started stocking up on diapers (with every coupon we get in Sunday's paper). Now we just need to finish our registries and decide what stuff we want. Sure wish I knew the gender!

Teacher

Ok, so I hope this isn't bragging, but I have to tell you a story. My visiting teacher came over tonight, and she asked her daughter if she wanted to come with her. Her daughter looked at her with a confused look and said, "Why would I want to come with you?". And her mom said, "Because I'm visiting your primary teacher, Sister Pulver". So, she got all excited and came with her and as we were talking, she asked me where I worked. I told her and then Hayley (her daughter) says, "and you also work at Church". I said, "That's right, I'm also a teacher". And her mom said, "What kind of teacher is she?" and Hayley said, "The BEST teacher". Isn't that sweet??? :)

Dream

I had a dream last night about KitKat (our nickname for the baby). I was looking at her (yes, it was a girl in my dream) and she was about 3 months old, and I didn't realize she had been born. I didn't remember having her and I was wondering who had been feeding her all these three months because I knew it wasn't me. They say you have weird dreams when you're pregnant :)

It's Official!

Just got back from my visit to Dr. White. She confirmed my pregnancy and said I was 4 weeks and 5 days along. The due date was either Nov 25 or 26, I can't remember, guess I was too nervous. Doesn't really matter anyway, since most babies aren't born on their due dates. I'm just going to tell everyone "around Thanksgiving" and leave it at that. She said my "growing/stretching" pains were normal and to eat 7 small meals a day to avoid morning sickness, though she seemed pleased that I hadn't experienced that yet. She gave me a prescription for prenatal vitamins and took a quick test for disease and gave me some paperwork and sent me on my way. She also told me to avoid hot tubs, large fish, and deli meats. Interesting! Guess I'll have to be cooking my ham and turkey before I eat it now! Next appt: Apr 25th.

Taxes Filed Jointly

I did our taxes this weekend. We get $1400 more filing jointly than separately, how cool is that? The money will come in handy with all the new fun stuff we'll need to buy. It wasn't like when I got married and already had the house setup and didn't really need anything. I have NOTHING ready for this beautiful baby that is coming to live with us soon, so much to buy and I don't even know where to start. I guess diapers are a good place to start, I could start stocking up on them each time I grocery shop. I guess I'll find out the official due date tomorrow at my appointment :)

Whew!

I worked at the Temple today and ran into my friend, Andrea. She is due on 11/16/07, so we're only about a week apart. I asked her who her doctor was, and she goes to the same place I'm going to go to! I was so relieved to hear that it was a good place! I had just chosen it because it was close, covered by my insurance, had good reviews on ratemd.com and they looked really nice on their website. I'm so grateful to hear from someone I actually know that I picked a good place though. Hopefully we will see each other there from time to time. I was working in the Youth Center at the Temple with a few kids. One of them asked me if she could sit on my lap and rock with me in the rocking chair. Hmm... I might be able to handle being a mom after all.

To Eat or Not To Eat

So, I got up this morning and made some muffins for David and I. But when they came out of the oven, I just stared at them and the thought of eating one just made me queasy. He asked me if I was going to eat, and I just said, "I don't think so". I didn't want to eat anything actually. So, when I got to work, I drank a Slim-Fast just to try to get something in and I figured it had some vitamins and minerals... 24 to be exact! Then I had some crackers. Why didn't I have no appetite when I wasn't pregnant?? :) Tonight he's going to watch the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie with Justin, so I told him no thanks, so maybe I'll relax and watch a chick flick :) Also, last night I went to Enrichment and two of the moms of the children I teach in Primary came up to me all excited about how happy their children are to have me as a teacher. In fact, one of them told me that she has had a hard time even getting him to go to Church, and now he's excited to go to class. :)
