Jury Summons

I received a jury summons the other day and did you know that "expectant mother" is one of the optional excuses you can check to be excused from jury duty? That was wayyyyy too easy. :) I never got a jury summons until last year, and now I've had 2 in the last year. Last year I actually forgot to go until someone at work asked me why I didn't go. Luckily I work downtown near the courthouse and was able to rush over there... just to find out they didn't need me though, but I was relieved! Could you imagine me in jury duty right now? Excuse me judge, I know I just went 10 min ago, but could I be excused to go to the ladies room again? But, judge, what does "sequestered" mean.... I'm a newlywed, you know? No, these emotional bursts happened way before I was pregnant, sorry, judge, can't blame them on the baby :)

The United States

Ok, I just had to share this. Most of you know I teach the 8 year olds in Sunday School, and today one of them said the cutest thing. The lesson was on Missionary Work, so I asked each of them where they would like to serve a mission. My little student pipes up and says, "I want to stay in the United States because I DO NOT want to go to Arkansas". I said, "Excuse me?". He said, "Yep, my dad said that Arkansas is boring, so I want to stay in the United States instead". Aren't kids cute? :) 8 more days to the sonogram!! I sure hope the baby is cooperating, my co-worker told me that both of her girls wouldn't cooperate so she didn't find out the gender until much later :(

Coming to a theater near me...

I think I was actually shaking when I made the sonogram appointment just now. It is scheduled for July 10th at 10:30am. How exciting that we will know in just 15 days whether we will be buying little blue suits or frilly pink dresses!!!

Appointment #3

Last Friday Mom and I went to my 3rd baby appointment. I've gained 4 lbs since my last appointment, so that's about right with the average being 1 lb per week. We heard the heartbeat and then the doctor gave us the paperwork for the long-awaited sonogram. He said I needed to wait 7-10 days and then could have it. Now it all depends on David's schedule, but hopefully it will be within the next two weeks :) Doc also said I should feel the baby kick this week!! I also wanted to share something cool I read in a pregnancy book my mom gave me. It said something like "Your baby will be more interested in looking at you then even all the exciting new things around her". I thought that was sweet :) Oh, and yes, we went to the gym this morning. I changed from the treadmill to the elliptical because I seem to work harder on that machine. So, we went 3x last week and already once this week. I was also thinking about trying the Water Aerobics tomorrow night!

New Furniture

We finally have pictures to post of our new bedroom furniture and beautiful dark red walls :) This has been a good week. I reached my "4 month" pregnant mark and today is my 12th anniversary of being home from my mission and next week is our 8 month wedding anniversary! Today is also my next baby appointment. A few hours from now I will hopefully be educated on how to schedule my sonogram so that we can finally find out the gender :) Yipppee!

Gym x 2

Yep, we actually went to the gym again this morning!!! Of course my legs are sore today, but no-pain-no-gain, right? Don't worry, I'm walking very slowly on the treadmill for only 30 minutes so far, so I'm not overdoing it :)

Gym

David and I finally made it back to the gym this morning. I haven't been since my pregnancy started and David hasn't been able to go since he sprained his finger. So we got up at 5:30 and actually got dressed and headed to the gym. We were proud!! Of course, the first treadmill I got on had a fuzzy TV, then I moved, then my headphones didn't work, so I had to go grab some other ones... but I finally got going. Hopefully we will stick with it :) We're supposed to go tomorrow... but don't hold your breath!

Got It!

Ok, I got it. I figured out a way to explain how I believe that I'm pregnant, but it hasn't sunk in that I'm pregnant. I can tell from my growing body that I'm pregnant, but it just feels like my body is creating a "cocoon" of sorts that will eventually house a baby. But, it hasn't sunk in yet that the baby is actually already there and growing every day. Does that make sense? That's why I think that once I feel her, then it will start sinking in that she's actually already there and has been there since late Feb/early March :)

More Blood Work

Had some more blood work today. The first one was for gestational diabetes. That's where they make you drink this glucose drink and then you have to sit for an hour, then they take a blood sample. I tried to take a book to read, but I guess I should have brought something with smaller words. I couldn't get into the book I had. It was called "Mysteries of Godliness" or something like that. The other test was an AFP test. http://www.webmd.com/baby/Alpha-Fetoprotein-AFP-in-Blood It tests for some pretty scary things. Hopefully I won't get called before my next appt (Jun 22) and then she'll tell me everything came back negative. We will also be getting the information on scheduling the sonogram, which I believe will be sometime in July. Imagine, finally finding out whether we're having a little prince or princess :)

Painting is Done!! Carpets are Clean!!

This morning we finished the painting and then David's cousin Todd came over in the afternoon and now the carpets are beautiful again. Hopefully I'm ordering the furniture tonight! Here's a picture of the paint job/pretty carpet!
