Forgot A Story

I forgot a cute story from this weekend. At the arcade, this little kid looked at my belly for a long time and said to me, "Whatcha got?". It was so cute, he couldn't have been more than 4 or 5. I said, "It's a baby in there". He got a confused look on his face and said, "A baby?" and I said, "Yes, a baby inside". He gave his mother a look like I was crazy and then went on his merry way. ;)

Happy Halloween!!!

Here's a scary picture for you!! My co-workers and I usually dress up as some great creative group thing, but they were not willing to participate this year (too much work I guess). So, I had to think of something all by myself. You can call this "Little (not really) Lana Lang" or you can call it "A creative way to be able to wear pajamas to work one day".

One Year Anniversary!

This weekend we drove up to St. Augustine/Jacksonville for our one year anniversary! Thank you so much to those of you who sent emails/cards to help us celebrate!!! I was impressed at how many of you remembered and thought of us!! It was probably our last vacation before Kate joins our family. Our plans for a romantic weekend on the beach were "dampered" by the weather, so we had to be creative. We ended up having a blast first at Dave and Buster's and then at the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party ! Mind you, I had no business being at either place. Ski-ball just isn't as easy when you're 8 months pregnant, and neither is trying to get through a crowd of excited/upset college students!! Dave & Buster's is one of those places where you can earn tickets and exchange them for prizes, so David got a Superman doll and I got a souvenir cup and some sweettarts. Here's a sketch that we did when we were at the arcade. I couldn't stop laughing/smiling long enough for the picture, but oh well, at least it shows how much I love my honey!!

Appointment Today

Dr. Appointment today. Everything is still good. Still measuring perfectly for my due date. It's so funny to see the doctor's reaction sometimes. They never ask how I'm feeling, but I tell them anyway and they just smile and say, "Yep, that's normal". Except for today's appointment. I told her about the pain/tingling/numbing I've been having in the back of my hands. She said she's never heard of that before and that it could be caused by the swelling and to keep my feet elevated and keep taking the tylenol. I wonder if there has ever been a case where someone really had something wrong, but just figured it was a "normal pregnancy" symptom and didn't do anything about it. I know if I wasn't pregnant, I would definitely be going to the doctor about my hand pain. I'm looking forward to all these annoying pains that will hopefully be disappearing in less than 5 weeks!!! :) Next appt: Nov 1.

Didn't believe it 'til I saw it with my own eyes.

I have heard about people who weren't willing to get into elevators with "advanced" pregnant women, but I didn't really believe it... until yesterday. My co-workers and I were heading down to the first floor and the elevator stopped on the 8th floor and this lady who was about ready to get in the elevator took one look at me, shook her head and said she'd take the next one! I couldn't believe it!! Chicken!! :) I had a baby appt yesterday and she said I'm measuring perfect for my due date (bummer, I was hoping she would say Kate might come early) . My appointments are weekly now. I won't be posting all the weekly "stats" on my blog so if you want them you'll have to email me starting next Wed :)

Ok, so maybe a boy won't be that bad!

After seeing this picture, there's no way I could ever not want to have a little boy someday!!

You Had to Be There

I'm beginning to realize how much having a baby is like serving a mission. You never really know what it's like until you experience it first hand. It doesn't matter how much you read, how much you hear from friends and family, how much you research, there is always more to discover all on your own. Like this morning... you know how when you're washing your hair and you tip your head forward so that you can really scrub underneath... well, no one told me how hard that becomes when your stomach is in your neck :)

Trip to the ER

And here I thought the next time we went to the hospital, it would be for Katelyn's arrival!!! David always did have a cute way of filling my life with surprises, but I'll let you read about it on his blog. Hopefully he will post his story soon. :) http://davidpulver.blogspot.com

Grandpa Pulver

David's great grandfather Pulver passed away today. I think my first memory of him was when he piled in my car with Dinah, David and Rosie and I and we headed to New Smyrna Beach to take our engagement pictures. He had a good camera and a good eye for photography, so we asked for his help. Those of you who liked our wedding invitations...those pictures were taken by Grandpa and Dinah. Here's a picture that was taken that day of Grandpa and Rosie. He was 97 at the time, and helped me know the Pulver family was full of love. :)
