Some Day My Princess Will Come

Luckily Aaron (David's brother) and Jen came to visit and brought some games to occupy our time. We played some Disney Scene It and Scattegories. It is now 11:40pm. The moms have gone home to get some rest as the nurse says she doubts we'll deliver by 7am. Yes, we are still waiting for a labor and delivery room before they will administer the pitosin. I'm very excited because my big sister is coming in tomorrow morning!!! Meanwhile, I just went for a brief walk, even got to go outside (though Mom brought me in because it was a bit chilly). Thanks to everyone and their concerns and inquiries, but nothing has happened yet. David and his father gave me a blessing, so I'm sure all will go well when it is supposed to. :)

Sitting, Waiting, Wishing

We are still in the same room in we've been in since we arrived. No new updates. The stats are Patti is dialated to 3 cm, and she was 70% effaced. We've been told that all the rooms are full on the labor and delivery floors. As soon as a room opens we will be taken down there and they will begin inducing her. Let's hope that happens soon.

Here we Go!

This is David. We are sitting in a room at Winnie Palmer Hospital waiting to be induced. The hospital is super busy today, so the delivery rooms are all full. Apparently, Katelyn will be sharing a birthday with a lot of other people. So, we wait. I will attempt to do frequent posts, both to serve as a a journal, and to keep people updated who might be curious as to our current status.

Heading to Hospital

I haven't been feeling well the past two days, so I finally went to the doctor this morning and he said my BP was 130/90 and I had some protein and early signs of pre-eclampsia, so he's sending me to the hospital and says Katelyn will be here in the next 12-24 hours :) Stay tuned for updates!!!

Stroller Thoughts

I think this picture describes perfectly David and I's feelings tonight as he put together Katelyn's stroller. At one point I said to him, "I can't believe we're having a baby!". All these emotions were going through my head as I pondered how our lives would be changing. Fear, excitement, anticipation, humility, amazement, curiosity and so many other feelings flooded my mind as I took quite some time to gather thoughts about this upcoming adventure. Then much later I heard David say, "We're having a baby". He said it so calmly as if to just state the fact and be excited about the news. So, as I was thinking about our two different ways of considering the same thought, I was reminded of this picture and figured it was worth a post :)

Tips from Pregnancy Brain #265

This morning's tip can be summed up as follows: If you're going to use a water pik on your teeth, make sure you put the water pik in your mouth before you turn it on. Because of my brain malfunction, David and I will be repainting a portion of our bedroom wall in the near future. ;( Had a baby appointment last Friday. Kate is head down and approximately 6 pounds and everything is a-ok!

In the teens!!

Wow, I haven't been "in my teens" since 1991!!! Anyway, I have another proof of pregnancy brain for you! Last night I had dinner with a friend of mine for her birthday. I was getting a bit tired, so I left the party a little early and headed home. On my way home, I called my mom and we were chatting and she happened to ask me who paid for all these people's dinner. I GASPED!!! I said, "Oh no, I forgot to pay for my meal!!!". I told her I'd have to call her back. So, I immediately called my friend back, apologizing immensely for leaving her with my bill. Luckily she found it quite humorous and allowed me to blame my absentmindedness on the pregnancy. :)

Oops!

Well, either Katelyn reads my blog or I spoke too soon because she kicked me furiously all day long today!! So much so, I went upstairs to talk to my co-worker about it to make sure it was nothing to worry about (like as if Katelyn was being choked or bothered by something). Yea, I know, I know, I'm heading to the paranoid stage. My co-worker said "Maybe she's dropping". I just stuck with that until I just now looked in the mirror...it looks like she's sitting higher than before. I just had to laugh. Sounds like she might be just as rebellious as her mommy! I think I have put away about 90% of my maternity clothes since they don't fit anymore. I'll have to get David to take another pic of me so that those of you far away can enjoy a pic of just how large I have become. I'm trying to look at the bright side... the bigger I look now, the smaller I'll look in a few weeks, right???

Where'd she go?

I know they said I would have "decreased fetal movement" as we got closer to the due date, but sometimes it even scares me a little how much less action is going on in my tummy. I actually miss her kicking me all the time and even purposely wake her up sometimes to make sure she is still in there and doing well. (I've heard I'm not the only one guilty of this). Other things have been happening and I guess they all point to the fact that this indeed is a reality and Katelyn Pulver will be arriving sooner than later ;) Is the world ready for another Pulver? ;)

Dr. Appt - 36 weeks and 2 days

All went well this morning with my weekly appointment with Dr. White. When I got to work, someone at the elevator asked me when I was due. I said, "The 27th". He said, "Of??". I said, "November. Now I can say I'm due THIS month. Yippee!". Crazy that David and I could be having a baby THIS month!!! At least I sure hope she comes THIS month!! David asked me last night if I was "ready". I said, "Nope", but I'm not sure I would ever feel comfortable actually saying yes, so no worries :) I didn't think I was "ready" for marriage either, but it's turned out quite well I must say.... right Baby???? ;)
